MOBILE, Ala. – On the third day he shall rise! The closest we sinners can come to resurrection on earth will be manifest Tuesday, November 5.
This glad event will seem miraculous to some, demonic to others. But it comes as no surprise to those who know that one has kept the faith throughout – Dean Young.
The liberals in Washington and the media attacked and slandered our beloved chief justice, Roy Moore, for daring to defend his rights to honor God with a Ten Commandments monument inside the supreme court chambers. Some false friends revealed themselves then as latter days Judases. Even among the judge’s fellow lawyers, Pharisees joined the liberal unbelievers in expelling him from office.
But not Dean Young. He remained faithful beside judge Moore and never faltered. God works in mysterious ways. Now providence and politics have combined to return the judge to his ordained role in the robes of chief justice.
And in reward for Dean Young’s faithful service, the Lord has opened a way for him.
Few in southwest Alabama remember representative Sonny Callahan, but all know his legacy. His last act after decades in office was to anoint his DC office manager, Jo Bonner, as his successor, wearing a Republican label like his boss. Bonner lived in Washington and had to create a fictitious Mobile residence to qualify for election. Then he eased back into DC life.
There, he strove for recognition and reward as a moderate, which meant forsaking whatever principles he may ever have had. And thus it was, until academic liberals bestowed upon his sister the title of president of the University of Alabama. Whereupon, she opened the doors for brother Jo into gilded campus glory as the school’s manager of all matters political.
And in this unforeseen manner God created a vacancy in congress for Dean Young. The election to fill it looms.
A token Democrat will make a sacrificial run later. But the real election is the Republican primary on Tuesday.
Chamber of Horrors
The RINO (Republican In Name Only) in this race masquerading as a true elephant is Bradley Byrne. Behind his mask lurks the Democrat he used to be. If any further proof of his true traits were needed, Byrne provided it by his shifty, dodging refusals to affirm the literal truth of every word in the Bible — as if he believes God might lie or mislead in his Holy Writ. Yet Byrne claims to be a Christian.
He also claims to be a conservative. The proof against this has been provided by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorsing him. They announced it from their headquarters in Washington, where they profess to be defenders of free enterprise — while snuggling with the big government liberals to raise the debt ceiling, oppose the shutdown, legalize illegals breaching the borders, and surrender to Obamacare. The Chamber even supports seizing private property by the confiscatory powers of the federal government and sequestering this stolen land for bureaucrats and armed rangers to rule as so-called national parks.
This should banish any remaining doubts about Byrne’s real allegiances. The Chamber thought they were helping him with their endorsement. They have actually tied a millstone around his neck and cast him into the sea.
Because they have exposed themselves in covert league with the liberals and radical environmentalists to steal and seal our Mobile river delta. When these allies look upon that great expanse of swamp and forest and branching river channels, they see a playground and shrine for heathen nature worshipers, who would police its bounds with federal officers allowing only their chosen ones to enter.
By Their Fruits
Their devilishly sly start calls merely for a study about whether to convert the delta into a national park. But by their fruits you shall know them.
They are unbelievers who do not adhere to God’s Holy Word, which plainly decrees that we shall subdue the earth and shall have dominion over all life upon it. The very preserving purpose of a national park violates this Scriptural command. By definition such a park attempts to prevent the earth from being subdued and denies dominion over the wildlife within it.
Those desiring to study turning the Mobile delta into a national park declare by this desire their willingness to defy Scripture, for the study might conclude it should become a park. And they are prepared to accept this conclusion.
Dean Young is not.
He knows what Scripture says and has no doubts about its literal truth, unlike Bradley Byrne. And he knows that the Constitution, which was inspired by God, contains nowhere the phrase national park.
That’s why he had pledged that as the Mobile area’s congressman he will not only prevent the feds from confiscating the delta for a park. He will also prevent even any study of it. He will Save the Delta, as he has repeatedly promised.
This means you, the ordinary citizens of the area, will remain free. You will still be able to fish and hunt in all your accustomed places. You will still be able to take your boats of any size or type into any waters where they will go. And you will still be able to take any vehicle into the less watery areas.
The owners of forests within the delta will remain able to harvest their timber. And the owners of mineral rights will still have access to their assets, whether under land or water.
Meek Inheritance
A founding patriarch of the oil era, John Paul Getty, was fond of saying the meek shall inherit the earth, except the mineral rights. Enemies of freedom have sought to construe this as mocking the meek.
Actually, Getty was wisely reconciling Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount blessing upon the meek with the Genesis summons to subdue and dominate. The mission of the meek is to expect little, so that when they receive little they will not feel sad and deprived and they will glorify God. And the mission of those owning the mineral rights is to subdue and dominate.
A national park in the Mobile delta would wickedly and sinfully deprive them of the freedom to carry out their mission of extracting the buried assets they own. These are mainly gas and oil, now accessible in larger volumes than ever before thanks to improved techniques like fracking.
Some, lacking the mind or faith to grasp the Lord’s Master Plan, tremble and shrink from this prospect. They survey the results of a century’s oil and gas production in the lower Mississippi delta of Louisiana. And they see the swamps streaked with oily sheens and carved apart and crumbling into the sea. And they see hunting and fishing dwindle.
But they are looking only with feeble, blinkered human eyes. From on high the Lord looks down upon the whole breadth of that scene and beholds an earth mightily subdued and fully under dominion, just as He instructed. He is well pleased, and He smiles.
He wants to smile also upon the Mobile delta, and He will when Dean Young is elected to congress and can serve as the delta’s champion in Washington.
But this can happen only if the voters do their righteous duty on election day and send Bradley to Byrne in political hell.
