With President Bush and other top federal officials warning that New Orleans is still unsafe and could flood again in an approaching storm, the mayor came under increasing pressure Monday to abandon a plan to reopen large portions of the city over the next few days, according to this AP story.

He just held a press conference and suspended the plan, according to this blurb just out.
