The Big Picture
by Glynn Wilson

Disgraced former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who managed to get enough dingbat evangelical Christian Republicans to vote for him to win the South Carolina Primary, went down to Florida and launched the biggest moonbat idea of the 2012 presidential race so far: A Lunar colony that could petition to be the 51st state in the United States when it reaches 13,000 residents.

Don’t believe it? What planet have you been living on lately? It’s all over every news channel. Here are a couple of sample videos (science analysis below).

Gingrich’s Ex-Wife Claims he Wanted an ‘Open Marriage’

In an explosive interview, according to The Hill newspaper, Newt Gingrich’s second wife, Marianne Gingrich, says the former House Speaker wanted an “open marriage,” but that she refused, according to an exclusive interview by ABC News (see video above).

Her revelation comes as Gingrich is closing in on front-runner Mitt Romney in the South Carolina Republican primary, with Texas Governor Rick Perry bowing out of the race. While experts say Gingrich had a chance to pick up some conservative support and make a showing in the Southern state, the interview with his ex-wife could damage his campaign, especially with conservative evangelical voters.

Gingrich was apparently carrying on a sexual affair at the time with congressional aide Callista Gingrich, who became his third wife. It is hard to see conservative Southern Christians supporting a candidate for president with such low moral standards, but then, they seemed to forgive George W. Bush and other Republicans in the past. Stay tuned.

Republicans Face Uphill Climb to Unseat President Obama

Exactly three weeks until the first Republican presidential nominating contest in Iowa, front-runners Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney have two different challenges, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Romney faces a challenge with the Republican primary electorate, trailing Gingrich nationally by 17 percentage points as nearly two-thirds of Republicans view him as either liberal or moderate.

Gingrich, meanwhile, faces a challenge with the general electorate, as half of all voters say they wouldn’t vote for him in November, and as he trails President Barack Obama by more than 10 percentage points in a hypothetical contest, while Romney’s trails the Democratic incumbent by 2 points.

“Romney has not caught on [with Republican voters],” says Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart, who conducted this survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff. “And Gingrich is so deeply flawed.”

Rising Republican Front Runner Newt Gingrich Suggests Gutting Child Labor Laws

November 21st, 2011

Disgraced former House Speaker Newt Gingrich suggests doing away with child labor laws in the U.S., calling current law “truly stupid.” Many people who understand the need for labor laws in the U.S. think it is Gingrich who is “truly stupid.” If the Republicans nominate this guy for president, Barack Obama will win in the biggest landslide in history.

Barack Obama Leads Sarah Palin in Early 2012 Presidential Poll

November 24th, 2010

President Barack Obama leads potential Republican challenger Sarah Palin by 48 percent to 40 percent in a new public opinion poll just out from Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, although the numbers show a large number of people do not believe the first African-American president in U.S. history deserves a second term.

If the election were held today, Obama would be in a statistical dead heat with possible Republican challengers Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and Mike Huckabee of Arkansas.

Romney, Huckabee, Palin and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are bunched together when Republican voters are asked who they prefer for the GOP’s 2012 presidential nomination, yet 64 percent of Democratic voters do not want anyone to challenge President Obama for their party’s nomination in two years.

“The Democratic base remains squarely behind President Barack Obama when it comes to his re-election, but his weakness among independent voters at this point makes his 2012 election prospects uncertain,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “The demographic splits in the electorate when voters are asked whether the president deserves a second term is a roadmap for his re-election strategists on how they need to focus their appeal.”

Disgraced Republican Losers Call President Obama 'Radical?'

Barack Obama was elected president by a wider margin than Bush, either time…

But Sarah Palin, who resigned as governor of Alaska in an ethics scandal, and New Gingrich, who was forced to resign as House Speaker by his own party members in a, you guessed it, ethics scandal, are trying to launch their rebirth campaigns for president by calling President Obama “radical.”

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow has it right when she says Newt is now reduced to the role of “angry commenter on right-wing blog,” LOL, ROTFL!

In New Orleans with a bunch of Tea Party nuts, Palin said, “What’s wrong with being the party of no?”

Duh, the vast majority of Americans would like to see government work for a change, that’s what…

Sarah Palin Plagiarizes Newt Gingrich?

This is too funny. Alaska Governor and potential Republican presidential candidate in 2012 Sarah Palin can’t even come up with her own BS now. She has to steal from former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who you will recall had to resign in disgrace from that post back in the 1990s. Now he’s on the GOP short list for prez too?

I never thought I would live to see the day when the Republicans turned to people even dumber and more compromised than George W. Bush for their presidential candidates.

Hey Karl. Care to make a Yuengling bet on which party will dominate American politics for a generation? I don’t think it will be the GOP, boy. And they still want you on TV as a talking head? You ain’t such a brain after all : )
