Exceptional Drought Grips Southeast

An exceptional drought continues in much of the Southeast, draining water supplies, destroying crops and even hampering the onset of autumn color. The fall colors are supposed to be peaking now, but this view of the Swann-Joy Bridge over the Locust Fork River in Blount County taken on Monday, Nov. 12, shows that the colors are mostly dried out this season.
