Independent Investigations Require Funding

May 8th, 2008

We are in the midst of several in-depth investigations and may not be posting regularly on this blog space until people demonstrate that they are willing to support these investigations financially.

As always, the Locust Fork World News page is being updated several times a day and we encourage people to read it, since it is there we link to the most important stories going on in the world.

We have now demonstrated the power of this Web site over and over again for the past three years. It is time for some sponsors to step up and support it.

February 1st, 2007

Hey Y’all!

If you haven’t already figured this out, we don’t exactly have the New York Times copy desk over here at the Fork looking over our shoulders editing all this wonderful journalistic prose, unfortunately. So we make mistakes.

If you see one - and you take the time to play the blog citizen editor game and e-mail it in so we can fix it for the archives - we’ll enter you into a drawing to get free stuff from the Locust Fork Shop.

Looking For A Bigger Lens

January 26th, 2007

Sorry in advance for this quick fund raising note. We are in the hunt for a bigger lens to fit on a Nikon camera body to get ready for the backyard bird count coming up in February and the spring migration season in March.

If you have an old 300, 400 or 500 mm lens lying around that you are not using, consider donating it to the Locust Fork photography cause. We’ll put it to good use. Or, if you like checking out our bird photography, and you’ve got a few bucks to spare, consider making a donation via PayPal. If you don’t have a PayPal account but would consider sending a check, money order or paying cash, give us a shout and we’ll tell you how. Send an e-mail message to fast2write@charter.net or call 205.960.3639.
