AIR QUALITY ALERT TUESDAY!!! Tuesday Discussion: A trough begins to dig southward in the eastern US with the ridge weakening over the SE. Slow moving cold front across the mid-Mississippi River Valley will influence BHM weather by mid-week to change the airmass. Hot and hazy conditions across the BHM area will continue with a weak westerly flow picking up moisture from the southerly flow across Mississippi and extreme western Alabama. With PWs approaching 1.75? and moderate instability, albeit a weak cap in place, scattered showers are expected during the afternoon to provide the best chance of rain since the beginning of last week. With the new airmass not yet ushered in, PM2.5 will be in the orange range yet again.
