Kim Denmark, who is Walking Across America to bring attention to homelessness, joblessness and poverty, joins a Progressive Democrats of America rally pressuring Alabama Governor Robert Bentley to opt in to Obamacare and expand Medicaid, a move he has avoided due to political fear of the right-wing tea party in his run for reelection next year in one of the most conservative states in the country.
“These issues have plagued the nation for far too long because of greed, selfishness and a lack of basic human compassion,” Denmark says, believing that these issues “must be met head on with the help of small businesses, church communities, celebrities and the people of this great nation. People who are willing to not only start the conversation but engage in change to change the situation.”
A full story with photos and a video are in the works on the rally and should be up by sometime Sunday.
Meanwhile check out Walk Across America, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting initiatives, programs and organizations that are effectively working to fight homelessness and poverty nationwide.
