    We can only hope that soon an individual’s sexual orientation will not be something they think they need to hide, and moreover, will not be something that impedes a career or otherwise negatively impacts that person’s life.

    This particular form of discrimination is the lingering effect of ancient monotheistic religious taboo and has no place in an enlightened society.

    And, of course, we aren’t quite at the enlightened society stage, meaning we have regular displays of bigotry and hypocrisy around this, and similar, issues.
