Dock on the Rock at Smith Lake May 22

May 17th, 2010

Silverock Cove, a residential development on Smith Lake, is hosting “Dock on the Rock,” a day at Smith Lake featuring a number of lake-themed activities on Saturday, May 22 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. The event is open to the public and there will be live music all day long.

Activities will highlight the range of recreational opportunities on the lake as well as a shrimp boil courtesy of Birmingham’s Little Savannah restaurant.

“We are excited to welcome everyone down for a great day at the lake,” says Carter Hughes, developer of Silverock Cove.

Activities include a boat show and kids rides sponsored by Rambo Marine, which will feature Demos of Cobalts, MasterCrafts and Crownline boats. They will also be offering wakeboard rides and demos.

There will be a fishing expo with one of the premier stripe fishermen on Smith Lake, and canoe and kayak tours throughout the day.

A photography show featuring the work of Chris Luker, a Birmingham-based photographer, will display some of Chris’ photographs from Silverock Cove, Smith Lake and the surrounding area.

There will be an evening shrimp boil courtesy of Little Savannah, with a $10 suggested donation and all proceeds benefiting the Black Warrior Riverkeeper.

And while you’re out there, check out the Lakewoods Arts and Crafts show at Lakewoods on Rock Creek, very close to Silverock Cove.
