Republicans won't be voting (presumably) in the Democratic primary; the voters who show up for both primaries will be the respective bases. Maybe Davis should just run in the Republican primary? Heck, lots of people have run, in Alabama, on both tickets at different times: Richard Shelby, Fob James, Parker Griffith, etc. Why not Davis?
