On the 2010 Great Backyard Bird Count final day, I was trying to snap some photos of a couple of blue birds coming around to the feeder, but they are so shy. This white-breasted nuthatch [sitta carolinensis] hung around for a good part of the morning, however, so I got some good shots of it to add to the growing collection in our category, Birds of Alabama.
