Long live the Tide. Let it spring forth with new business around here for all...

Not that I am a bettin' man, 'cause I'm not. But notice they also beat the line, meaning by Saturday or Tuesday at the latest, there will be significant cash flow in these parts : )

The game broke jinxes, too -- first win ever over Texas, uncommon win for Heisman winner's team to be national champions, and that tendency, present as far back as Bear, for Alabama to fold in championship games when the other team catches fire. (Actually, that folding tendency was given serious blows again Auburn and Florida, but this win dealt it a death blow.)

Defense won the game, a defense that Lee Corso called "the number one defense in the world" at halftime. Six points in the first quarter for Texas could have been two touchdowns, except for the defense, and Gilbert could have led the winning drive for Texas with 3:02 left, except for defense.

The Tide is back.
