The internal memos were about as detailed as you can get in a film and still hold an audience. In fact, his movies are not really fit for viewing in a theater anyway, and it just gets him criticized for taking money for a film criticizing capitalism.

His persuasive stories are better screened by groups of activists, the base that needs firing up.

But what do his other critics expect him to do? Turn down the money?

Of course it is a love story. Some critics say it’s not, but they are full of it. He is in love with democracy and would like to do his part to save it from run amok corporate capitalism.

One of the big, national media critics — can’t remember if it was the New York Times or Vanity Fair — called Moore “the most successful independent film maker in history.”

Of course everything in the U.S. is measured in dollars, so I guess that means he’s grossed the most at the box office. Not sure if it’s true or not, but he certainly has many fans and is at times persuasive and even influential. You gotta give him that…
