In the Stargate SG-1 television series, we discovered that the Gwaould are an ancient, high-tech group of interplanetary thugs who dress like the ancient Egyptians, and run around the galaxy oppressing folks with very advanced weaponry, etc.

Gwaould spaceships look like pyramids and their warlords have names like Anubis, etc.

The Gwaould visited Earth 5000 years ago and the ancient Egyptians worshipped them as gods and copied their structures, clothing and names without figuring out the technology part. In fact, the ancient Egyptians mimicked the Gwaould in a number of ways, but only in form, minus any substance.

In a very similar way, Artur Davis seems to be copying the form of successful campaigns, notably the Obama campaign, while not actually providing any substance. As Glynn observes, why bother to find out a majority of voters want a particular policy and then ignore the finding?

Davis is building a very impressive looking pyramid. But so far, that high-tech engine to fly into space hasn't been installed.

Hey. Is this guy Arthur Davis fun to have a beer with?

That seems to be the benchmark qualification for Americans who want to do their civic, democratic duty--and vote for the candidate of their choice.

If Arthur Davis, whoever he is (I live on Cape Cod these days and no one up here has ever heard of the dude), has any connection with the serially truant Karl Rove, then be warned: a vote for this man is a vote for whatever big business wants. Sort of like Bush/Cheney. And we all know how that turned out.

By the way, when is Karl Rove going to answer his Congressional subpoena?
