Don’t know.
I live in Mobile, and while our dailies share the al.com website, the Register’s editorials are nothing but Republican talking points plus a little hatred for the “northeast political establishment,” the Voting Rights Act, and any upholding of rights for minorities by “activist judges.”

If the Register’s publisher lived in a different time, he would certainly use his paper to advocate for slavery and segregation.

Don’t know much about the guy. He’s kind of an unknown, except for being Riley’s pick to “clean out” the junior colleges, which it seems really meant clearing out as many Democrats as possible under GOP-led prosecutions.

Questions: Is he one of the sources for the Birmingham News? Watch and see if all the Newhouse papers endorse him. I’d bet at least one Yuengling Black and Tan on it right now : )

Is Byrne on the record as being the same, more or less anti-gay than Artur Davis? From everything I’ve read, Davis is pretty awful.

As for Bryne, it’s apparent that he’s Riley’s friend, who probably was urged to run by him, since he can’t run again.

I hope that the people of Alabama realize what has been occurring with a GOP Governor, and elect a Democrat this time!
