We heard a couple of days ago that the National Enquirer was working on a story detailing an alleged sexual affair on the part of Sarah Palin, John McCain’s pick for Veep. But since the tabloid, which outed John Edwards in recent months and perhaps cost him a spot on the Obama ticket, had nothing on its Website, we moved on.

But it has recently come to our attention that a cool blog to watch for Alaska politics, Mudflats, carried a blurb on it, so here’s the key nugget. As I’ve already indicated, I don’t see how Palin can survive on the ticket with all these scandals swirling.

The latest story the National Enquirer is working on is that Palin had an affair with Todd’s ex-business partner in an Anchorage Car Wash venture. This was an interesting twist because it was also rumored that Todd Palin had an “Edwards problem.”

Two days ago, Todd’s ex-business partner filed an emergency motion to have his divorce papers sealed. Yesterday the motion was DENIED.

The plot thickens. Where in the world is Karl Rove?

HottiesInTheNews reports that the man alleged to have had the affair with Sarah Palin was a guy by the name of Brad Hanson, a council member with the Alaskan city of Palmer and a business partner of Palin’s husband, Todd. Brad Hanson and Todd Palin shared a Anchorage Car Wash venture, but broke off the partnership after the affair was discovered. Hanson was divorced shortly thereafter.

Would someone please get their hands on those divorce papers?
