Is Paul Finebaum A 'Real Man'???

It’s a bit late to post this, although the discussion is still going on … on the radio. The question is, does this moment with Birmingham radio personality Paul Finebaum in a small boat with Alabama football coach Nick Saban look like a “gay moment?” One caller said a “real man” would NOT have “gay friends,” and Finebaum said he had gay friends. Much talk about the Bible and such, typical Alabama talk radio in the summer when things are slow on the football field. But it brings up an interesting couple of lines: “I am not now nor have I ever been gay!” But also: “Some of my best friends are gay.” See the video and listen here: Finebaum.com. What do you think?

    The photo looks metrosexual. Definitely. If it was just Saban sitting there with the breeze blowing through his blond hair and his hands poised on his knees it would look gay.

    Much ado about nothing. Bad guy jokes.

    Over a few good beers last night, we discussed this: Why in the world are we on the radio talking about “rumors” on Troy King’s sex life, while ignoring all the real news going on in the world? Like the fact that Karl Rove defied a Congressional subpoena last week and failed to show up to testify under oath. He was in Sweden, we’re told, then Paraguay : )

    Because if you don’t occasionally go for the laugh, you’re effed. I’ve done 50 posts on Rove since November! And a fair share of clowning in between for sanity’s sake.

    I gave Finebaum an opening wide enough to drive a truck through on me. I told him I like hazelnut cream coffee.

    Now if that’s not “gay,” I don’t know what is : )

    I also know what Feng Shui is, which should make any “real Alabama man” cringe…

    In my defense, I do not own one single pink shirt, button down or otherwise : )
