Ironically, I live only a few miles from Blount Springs. I wish I had known. I can't think of very many things I would rather do than spend an afternoon visiting with him. Thanks for the glimpse into his later years. It doesn't sound like he changed much - and that is a good thing. I don't think I ever met anyone quite like Spider and probably never will. His spirit, wit, and character live on in my memory. Rest In Peace Spider. I knew Spider well back in the 1980′s, but life got busy and I lost contact with him.
