Black Bird Bathing in the Broad Daylight

If we are not mistaken, this is a female common grackle (quiscalus quiscula) cleaning itself in tree right over camp site 71 in Gulf State Park. They seem to like hanging out with the red-winged blackbirds, but fight the mockingbirds. This image was captured with the aid of an old Nikon 600 mm lens, courtesy of Dave Stueber of New Orleans, who joined us in the campground for a couple of windy nights.
