I've been covering these things for 25 years as a journalist. Normally, the people get screwed. Computers use a lot less power than other things, like the appliances that keep your food fresh and cook them. Maybe you should stop eating... < : ) And it is certainly cheaper and uses less energy to publish a news site online than it does to print and deliver that corporate, chain newspaper you read every day for the PR that passes for news.
