A Goose Fight…

| Photo by Glynn Wilson | A goose fight in East Lake Park. Looks like domestic geese, maybe graylag geese? I got several shots of this scene, but I like this one - mainly because of the facial expression of the brown character with the orange beak and eyes. The fighting brown and white goose won. I never saw the defeated white one surface. Hope he wasn’t dead. But if so, maybe it’s a “goose eat goose” world afterall? |

The Brown and orange gander looks like a mix between an African Gray and a Toulose (sp?).
I used to keep geese. Best watchdog I ever had was an African Gray gander named Rowdy. I had him for about 4 years before a fox got him. No one got near the yard without us knowing while he lived. He chased and bit many a meter reader and when my husband and I would be outside trying to carry on a conversation he would honk with every word we said making it impossible to be understood.
Oh how I miss the obnoxious bastard! He was great!

Someone else suggested a Toulouse, but I cannot find that in any of the online bird guides.

Here is a link to McMurray Hatchery with infor on the Toulouse

Loking at the pic I would definitely say it is all Toulouse with no African Gray mixed in. The backs and wings look very similar though.
