Crimson White Calls for Bush’s Impeachment
June 27th, 2005“Since no WMDs were found, the war’s justification seems to have shifted to an idealistic opportunity to spread democracy and freedom in a country without either. Negating the fact that it is oxymoronic to spread democracy by force, the American people can’t afford to trade in revisionist history,” the editorial writer says.
If Bush lied to take America into the war, then he must be held accountable. If Bush allowed faulty intelligence to cloud his judgment, he also must be held accountable.
Those on the fringes of the political spectrum have been calling for Bush’s impeachment for sometime, and it’s likely to only grow louder.
We submit to you, if the Downing Street memo is indeed true, articles of impeachment:
Count 1: Manipulating intelligence to falsely support a case for war.
Count 2: Not having enough foresight to properly plan for the occupation and post-war Iraq.
Let the trial begin.
It won’t happen, but at least my old alumni newspaper is on the record saying it. Where are the other newspapers in Alabama? On college campuses across the U.S.?
