Crimson White Calls for Bush’s Impeachment

June 27th, 2005

“Since no WMDs were found, the war’s justification seems to have shifted to an idealistic opportunity to spread democracy and freedom in a country without either. Negating the fact that it is oxymoronic to spread democracy by force, the American people can’t afford to trade in revisionist history,” the editorial writer says.

If Bush lied to take America into the war, then he must be held accountable. If Bush allowed faulty intelligence to cloud his judgment, he also must be held accountable.

Those on the fringes of the political spectrum have been calling for Bush’s impeachment for sometime, and it’s likely to only grow louder.

We submit to you, if the Downing Street memo is indeed true, articles of impeachment:

Count 1: Manipulating intelligence to falsely support a case for war.

Count 2: Not having enough foresight to properly plan for the occupation and post-war Iraq.

Let the trial begin.

It won’t happen, but at least my old alumni newspaper is on the record saying it. Where are the other newspapers in Alabama? On college campuses across the U.S.?

The Top 10 Reasons You Might Be A Liberaltarian

June 26th, 2005

This is a work in progress and here at The Locust Fork we need your help.

It is all too clear that the liberal versus conservative polarization is polluting meaningful dialogue in the U.S. We need some new labels to more accurately reflect public sentiment on important issues.

As we develop the radio show over the next few weeks and months, editor and publisher Glynn Wilson will be trying out the term liberaltarian in the effort to avoid being dismissed by the brain washed conservative movement.

So put on your thinking caps and send in your nominations for reasons why people may actually be liberaltarians instead of liberals or conservatives.

Here’s the initial top 10 list.

You may be a liberaltarian if:

1. If you believe George W. Bush is a bad president you may be a liberaltarian.

2. . . . you believe government should function efficiently yet stay out of people’s private lives . . .

3. . . . you believe the U.S. Justice Department should leave it to the states to decide whether doctors should be able to prescribe medical marijuana . . .

4. . . . you believe the federal government should stay out of a woman’s decision to abort an unwanted pregnancy . . .

5. . . . you believe the federal government should have the power to regulate big business to protect the environment . . .

6. . . . you believe Karl Rove deserves the nickname ‘Turd Blossom’ . . .

7. . . . you believe the media is more conservative than liberal . . .

8. . . . you believe there should be more bars than churches in the world . . .

9. . . . you’ve ever had sex out of wedlock and don’t feel bad about it . . .

10. If you believe Bill Clinton was a good president who made the government and the economy work you may be a liberaltarian.
