Locust Fork Radio
June 21st, 2005Sorry for not blogging Monday, but duty called. Spent most of the day undercover on a health care related story about how hospitals handle treating those without insurance.
Then, we had an important meeting to move along the planning for Locust Fork Radio, raising $1,000 in seed money. Feel free to contribute to help even more.
Since the radio station owners around here would never run a strictly liberal or even a progressive talk show in the land of Paul Finebaum and Rick and Bubba, we’ve found the perfect conservative to square off against. Dr. Hugh Court III, who is running for the Republican nomination for president in 2008 and now has some radio experience by virtue of his announcement at the National Press Club in January, is ready and willing to take us on - on the air.
We’ll be in a college radio studio for the next few months developing the show. Should be up and running and maybe on the air in Jefferson and Blount Counties in time for the Alabama governor’s race and certainly fine tuned and syndicated in time for the 2008 presidential election.
Look out Hannity and Colmes. We are smarter. I’m all but dissertation on a Ph.D. with 26 years of journalism experience and nine years of teaching experience and love to talk about the issues I care about. Dr. Court is a psychiatrist with an M.D. who loves to talk about the issues he cares about. Since we disagree on almost everything, it should make for some interesting fireworks.
Of course the plan also calls for a podcast online. Stay tuned, ho, ho. . .
